Everyone’s Told You to Study Napoleon Hill -Yet How Can You Use His Book to *Think* and *Grow* Rich?

If you’re an entrepreneur or in business yourself, or you’re among the highest ranks in the corporate world, no doubt you’ve had the message drilled in your head: “If you want to be successful, you’ve got to read ‘Think and Grow Rich.’”

And it’s true – I know almost all the top guys online and many of the best marketers in the world. I’m not aware of any of them who have read it fewer than a half dozen times. In fact they’ll tell you the more they read it, the more successful they became.

That’s my experience, too, especially once I read it from the standpoint of helping others master Napoleon Hill’s classic book from 1937 (I only use the Original Version, because it was changed many times over the years, even long after he died in 1970.)

The thing about “Think and Grow Rich”, as great as it is and as much as it can transform your life… the promise of the title has not been fulfilled for most people who’ve read the book.

In fact statistics I’ve seen say “Think and Grow Rich” has sold either 50,000,000 or 60,000,000 copies, depending on what your source is. Yet the book is widely credited with creating 1,000,000 millionaires.

Why not 50,000,000 or 60,000,000 millionaires? Why have fewer than 2% of the people who bought “Think and Grow Rich” been able to Think and Grow Rich?

The simple answer goes back to the fact that the most successful business people read it repeatedly and read it often.

For example, especially when they’re just starting to become successful, they keep it near them and read it at any breaks in the day – while they’re on-hold, waiting in an airport for their flight to leave, on the subway to and from work. They also listen to the audios of the Original 1937 Version while they’re driving.

Because it’s that constant reinforcement, over several weeks and months, that transforms how they Think, which then does result in them becoming Rich.

And, again, how rich they become is proportional to how often they study the book’s teachings and allow it to change how they think.

We know it takes most people three weeks to a month to make something a habit, and how we think is just a habit, too, the result of how we’ve become used to thinking. This is really “The Secret” to taking the wisdom in Napoleon Hill’s book and allowing it to deliver on its promise of making us rich.

Let’s look at it this way – most people have been trained to think of themselves as being the victim of circumstance and not having much power over their fate.

They’ve also been trained to lose interest in something and quickly move onto the next thing, so they don’t spend much time with anything and really benefit from any of it.

“Think and Grow Rich” isn’t meant to entertain you, although it will if you just read it casually. It’s meant to transform how you think, and it will if you use it the way Napoleon Hill intended.

Think about it. Your habits of thought, how you think, developed over a period of probably decades, and they determine all aspects of your life from how wealthy you are to how happy, how confident and how fulfilled you feel.

If you don’t have everything you want, right now, then how you think isn’t entirely supporting you.

Because as you know if you’ve studied “Think and Grow Rich” at least a half dozen times as the most successful people you respect, your life now is the exact result of your previous thinking.

You’ve heard the old cliche – and they become cliches because they’re true – “change your mind, change your life”. That’s the essence of how you will Think and Grow Rich.

The point of studying “Think and Grow Rich” six or more times is that continual exposure to this empowering wisdom will over time change your habits of thinking, replacing the old habits that no longer support who you are today. Instead, they build in you the habits of knowing and keeping in mind you have the power to create anything you want, and you have in the training the exact way of making it yours.

Once you’ve reached the “Thought Tipping Point” where the ongoing infusion of the Think and Grow Rich Philosophy has replaced your old habits of thought, then very quickly your life becomes better in all areas, and you start living the promise of the title.

That’s when you’ll Think and Grow Rich!

Think And Grow Rich Methology

I went to a seminar about “Think and Grow Rich” last week. During the seminar, something pop up in my mind . . .if Internet marketing can really apply this methology:

The power of Desire
The power of Decision
The power of Organized Planning
The power of Specialized Knowledge
The power of Masterminding
The power of Persistence
The power of Faith

1. The Power of Desire
How desperate do you want? What is your desire? “Getting Rich” is not good enough! What is the real reason why you want to “get rich”? For me, I want to see my child grow! I do not want to miss any moment of my child. At least, till now, I witness each and every milestone my child went through: Saying their first word, taking their first step, making their first roll, showing off their first unsupported sitting . . . Now, questions to all readers up there who are reading this, did you miss any moment of your life? Thus, gaining financial freedom is my mean to reach my goal of spending quality time with my family. Hey, the world is changing, I don’t mind to be called “House-Husband”! I want to live a life of FREEDOM! In term of, not bounded by 9 to 5 job; or worst, overtime and having bad days and bring it back to home!

So, What is your desire? What do you really really want?

2. The Power of Decision
Have I make up my mind? Do I WISH to be successful or Do I WANT to be successful? There is no such mindset as I wish . . . when you have a mindset of I wish, it really really mean, I wish to success but in case it did not work out, it’s ok to fail! Sorry if I sound crook, but allow me to say the truth with compassion! I really feel sorry for people who jump into Internet Marketing (or any business) hoping to be successful (In actual fact, it should be read as hoping to fail)! The mindset is not ready! So, once if you have made up your mind, no turning back (actually its easy to turn back as most of people will take it part time, and since investment is low, it’s easy for people to quit and claim Internet Marketing or any business is not real and will not work!)

Have you make up your mind? Do you want to be successful or wish to be successful? The choice is yours! Remember: The decision is like a pregnant issue! No such as I am almost pregnant or I am part-time pregnant or I am half pregnant! Either you are or you are not! Thus, either you want or you want not!

3. The Power of Organized Planning
Do you have a plan? Every decisions couple with a business plan! OK, you are not MBA graduates, but, you like it or not, you still need a plan!

You do not need a 20 pages plan, but a simple one will do:

When do you want to develop product? What product? How many products? Who is the target market segment? When do you want to do the survey? How do you want to do the survey? How much budget do you have? How much is your product cost? What is the target price of your product? Do you need affiliates? Do you need JV? Do you need outsource? Which auto-responder will you subscribe to? How do you organize your auto-responder? What domain name? Which hosting? When do you want to build your site? From your survey, how many are keen to give testimony? When is your pre-launch? How to do your pre-launch? When is the actual launch date? Have you build up the hype or momentum? Followup relaunch? Product series 2 . . . Well, above are some pointers but not in sequence and organized.

So in a nutshell, do you have 3 – 9 months plan ahead?

Remember: No plan = plan to fail!

4. The Power of Specialized Knowledge
If you have the knowledge, it’s fine! If not, just outsource! Go to eLance and there will be many people can help you in every aspect from programming to copywriting to ebook! It’s worst challenge for one who is IT savvy! We tend to do everything ourselves. We need to be focus on the execution of steps outlined in step 3 and not running amok to do everything under the sun!

Face it! We only have 24hour/day; only way for us to have 100hour/day is by leveraging! If you can co-partner with someone, then work out a profit sharing plan! Else, engage someone, beg someone, bride someone, pay someone, outsource to someone, do whatever you need, just let someone do the job for you!

This is a very important concept of OPT (Other People Time), OTR (Other People Resource), OTK (Other People Knowledge), OTM (Other People Money), OTX (Other People xxxxxx). Hey, have you ever see Bill Gate write his own MS Window/Office coding now? Have you ever see our PM Lee summon fine to parking idiots?

So, specialized knowledge = leverage on others = more time!

5. The Power of Masterminding
You cannot cross the Pacific alone! You need a team or soul mate! Get together with someone who is with same mindset. This sound crook, but you really need to do this: GET AWAY FROM SOMEONE WHO ARE AGAINST YOU! They will draw away your energy and demoralized you!

You need a masterminding team to help each others, share with each other, they are your support team, in term of technology as well as spiritually! If you are alone, QUICK! FIND ONE! If you want to join me, drop me a mail.

6. The Power of Persistence
If you believe in it, you must persistence even if the world is against you! Thomas Edison will not found Bulb if he failed and given up in his 999 time; Sly will not shoot Rocky if he given up submitting his script and insist on himself playing the lead role on 100th attempts; and many many more! This is the power of persistence. If you know it is going to work and going to change your life . . . just hang on and do it Of course, do review your course in step 3 if is heading nowhere!

Just remember your step 1 (desire), and you have already prepare step 2 (decision) and work out step 3 (planning), and figure out step 4 (leveraging), and have someone endorsed and support you in step 5 (masterminding group), then now you have to go thro your step 6 yourselves!

Each day is a day closer to your victory!

7. The Power of Faith
Lastly, to empowered all about, the most important fundamental! DO YOU HAVE FAITH in what you are doing? BELIEVE BELIEVE BELIEVE!

Conclusion Are you ready? Have you ask yourselves the right question? Wrong question will lead to stupid answer, which will lead you to failure!

Self Help Books: Which Are The Best?

If you are having problems in your personal life, and beginning to doubt your ability to cope with your issues on your own, you probably are thinking about getting advice from someone else. Sometimes, its hard to see our way through our problems because we are so closely involved. Sometimes it takes a set of eyes and ears from someone who is not actively involved to get a clear answer. Some people turn to counselors to help them work through their problems, while others turn to self help books.

Self help books have been popular for the last two decades, and continue to be popular today. You can find them to help you with almost any condition or problem you can think of, and you may have a hard time choosing the book that is right for you. There are so many books that become immensely popular, and they become a must have on everyones shopping list. The trouble with this is that the one’s that work for one person may not work as well for someone else.

You can buy self help books for specific problems, or you can buy ones that are more general. If you simple feel bored with life, or wish to give yourself an overall boost, you can buy a book that is more general in nature. On the other hand, if you have social phobia, you want to buy one’s that are specifically written on that subject. There are also books that can help you when you are in a career rut, about to divorce, or cannot seem to get your love life off the ground.

Take some time and read reviews of self help books before you buy. Reviews will help you understand exactly what the book has to say, and you can then decide if it is something that will help you, or if you need to keep looking. Books for men looking to move ahead in their careers may not be good for women. This is because men and women tend to face different challenges in their careers. Little things like this can make the difference in how a book helps you.

If you do not want to buy, go ahead and check a few out of your local library. This will not help you if you have social anxiety however, because you probably do not want to leave the house to buy or check out the book. This is where the Internet comes in. Go ahead and buy something off of Amazon or eBay, or see if you can find books you are interested in that are available as e-books. You can simply download these and read them from the privacy of your own home.

Self Help Books About Bad Habits

Bad habits can take over your life. They can make you fail at work, school, and relationships. It is important to address these issues. Self help books are great for this. Here are a few.

The 12 Bad Habits That Hold Good People Back: Overcoming the Behavior Patterns That Keep You From Getting Ahead is a book by Waldroop and Butler. This book focuses on bad habits in the workplace. It explains how you can understand your own bad habits and learn new ways to relate to people. They suggest that doing this will help you to advance and prosper in your career.

James Claiborn, Ph.D. and Cherry Pedrick, R.N. have collaborated on a book about all habits. It is called The Habit Change Workbook: How to Break Bad Habits and Form Good Ones. This book follows a cognitive-behavioral approach to bad habits. It uses psychological principles to get to the root of bad habits. Then, it goes into great detailed steps of how to break them. It also tells about a group of people who have bad habits and explains how each one is conquering theirs.

What to Do When You Don’t Know What to Do: Bad Habits and Addictions is a short book on the subject by Henry Cloud and John Townsend. It offers a religious perspective to those who feel overcome by their failings. It gives advice on how to find ways out of habits and addictions.

One book is a rather heavy read on the subject of addictions. However, it does offer some sound psychological advice. It is titled Changing for Good: A Revolutionary Six-Stage Program for Overcoming Bad Habits and Moving Your Life Positively Forward. The authors, James O. Prochaska, John Norcross, and Carlo DiClemente, work together to put together a system of coping with undesirable behaviors. It involves six steps, which are discussed in full.

If you have children you want to help, there is a book for you, too. It is called Good Kids, Bad Habits: The RealAge Guide to Raising Healthy Children. In it, Jennifer Tratchenberg discusses the kinds of habits children have as they are growing up. She gives insight into how these habits can follow them into later life. Then, the author helps parents set up a program that is designed specifically for their child. This will help the children to break bad habits.

Of course, what subject would be complete without an “Idiot’s Guide?” Suzanne LeVert has come up with the Complete Idiot’s Guide to Breaking Bad Habits. This book is a tremendous introduction on the subject of bad habits. At the same time, it does it with a sense of humor and warmth. Reading this book may not break your bad habit. However, it may put you in the right frame of mind to do it.

Self help books for breaking bad habits are very useful tools. They help those habituated to understand their problem behaviors and find ways to banish them. It always helps to have a second opinion. Reading these books on bad habits will give you advice that you would never think of on your own.

Ways To Unlock Your Self Improvement Power

When we look at a certain object, a painting for example; we won’t be able to appreciate what’s in it, what is painted and what else goes with it if the painting is just an inch away from our face. But if we try to take it a little further, we’ll have a clearer vision of the whole art work.

We reach a point in our life when we are ready for change and a whole bunch of information that will help us unlock our self improvement power. Until then, something can be staring us right under our nose but we don’t see it. The only time we think of unlocking our self improvement power is when everything got worst. Take the frog principle for example;

Try placing Frog A in a pot of boiling water. What happens? He twerps! He jumps off! Why? Because he is not able to tolerate sudden change in his environment, the water temperature. Then try Frog B: place him in luke warm water, then turn the gas stove on. Wait til the water reaches a certain boiling point. Frog B then thinks “Ooh! it’s a bit warm in here”.

People are like Frog B in general. Today, Anna thinks Carl hates her. Tomorrow, Patrick walks up to her and told her he hates her. Anna stays the same and doesn’t mind what her friends say. The next day, she learned that Kim and John also abhor her. Anna doesn’t realize at once the importance and the need for self improvement until the entire community hates her.

We learn our lessons when we experience pain. We finally see the warning signs and signals when things get rough and tough. When do we realize that we need to change diets? When none of our jeans and shirts would fit us? When do we stop eating candies and chocolates? When all of our teeth has fallen out? When do we realize that we need to stop smoking? When our lungs have gone bad? When do we pray and ask for help? When we realize that we’re gonna die tomorrow?

The only time most of us ever learn about unlocking our self improvement power is when the whole world is crashing and falling apart. We think and feel this way because it is not easy to change. But change becomes more painful when we ignore it.

Change will happen, like it or hate it. At one point or another, we are all going to experience different turning points in our life and we are all going to eventually unlock our self improvement power not because the world says so, not because our friends are nagging us, but because we realized its for our own good.

Happy people don’t just accept change, they embrace it. Now, you don’t have to feel a tremendous heat before realizing the need for self improvement. Unlocking your self improvement power means unlocking yourself up in the cage of thought that “its just the way I am”. It is such a poor excuse for people who fear and resist change. Most of us program our minds like computers.

Jen repeatedly tells everyone that she doesn’t have the guts to be around groups of people. She heard her mom, her dad, her sister, her teacher tells the same things about her to other people. Over the years, that is what Jen believes. She believes it’s her story. And what happens? Every time a great crowd would troop over their house, in school, and in the community she tends to step back, shy away and lock herself up in a room. Jen didn’t only believed in her story, she lived it.

Jen has to realize that she is not what she is in her story. Instead of having her story post around her face for everyone to remember, she has to have the spirit and show people “I am an important person and I should be treated accordingly!”

Self improvement may not be everybody’s favorite word, but if we look at things in a different point of view, we might have greater chances of enjoying the whole process instead of counting the days until we are fully improved. Three sessions in a week at the gym would result to a healthier life, reading books instead of looking at porn will shape up a more profound knowledge, going out with friends and peers will help you take a step back from work and unwind. And just when you are enjoying the whole process of unlocking your self improvement power, you’ll realize that you’re beginning to take things light and become happy.

Relationship Self Help

When you are in trouble; you need guidance to get out of that trouble. If you know how to get out then you can do it yourself. If not then definitely you need information from outside as to how to get out of the trouble.

There are many ways, you can get help. You can turn to your friends and relatives for help and guidance. Most of the people take help this way. They are great sources of information and their guidance and help really work. It is also a fact that you trust these people and so will do whatever they advice you to do.

Then there are experts who advice you for a fee. You take appointment with them and they first learn about your problem. Then they analyze it and then they provide advice. There are many kinds of experts who do advisory services for relationships, career issues, investment and in fact anything you can think of under the sun and you will find an expert who advices on that topic. Problem with this kind of seeking help is that though these experts can give good advice, sometimes their advice does not work. The other problem with them is that they charge huge fees.

Then there are self help groups. You can definitely find a relationship self help group in your neighbourhood. These group members are people who are facing similar problems in life and want help by seeking help from each other’s experiences. These groups are great when it comes to sorting out problems like getting rid of alcoholism, drug addiction, family abuse, relationship self help etc.

Relationship self help can be administered in many ways. One as described above is joining a self help group and become a member of the group. One more avenue of relationship self help is to buy self help books and read them. Mostly these books are written by people who have undergone similar problems in life and had successfully overcome them. Not all of these books are great. Some of these books are written in a good language and their concepts can be followed easily. But these concepts themselves can be flawed. So if the reader implements them, he fails to solve his problem. Sometimes the book is written in a bad language and so the reader can not follow the instructions. So even though the concepts presented for relationship self help in the book are practicable; it is not useful to the reader as he is not able to take advantages of the concepts about relationship self help presented in the book.

How to find a great relationship self help book which can help you in solving your problems? You can go to a book store and browse through the books there. When browsing a book, make sure that you understand the language well and that the book describes step by step instructions to help you out. The other avenue to find a good relationship self help book is to browse the internet. Internet provides the ability to find a huge selection of books which is not possible in a book store. The trick is to search for books using good key words and then search. Some of the great internet search engines are Google, MSN, and Yahoo etc.

How to Obtain Important Life Goals to Help You Grow

Identifying specific goals to help you grow is indeed an important process. Self growth is one of the most
gratifying and empowering things you could possibly explore. It allows you to be more aware and conscious
about your future and it can strengthen your confidence and motivation to help you achieve all your
personal goals.

There are various kinds of goals including personal goals, career goals, health goals and relationship
goals to name a few.

In order for true growth to occur you need to take a good look at you and your life. Think about all your
goals and aspirations and make  a list of the main areas in your life that you would like to improve or
develop. Think about the main attributes that will allow you really make a change in your life.

Now what do you need to help you develop these areas of your life?
Again make a list of the things, resources or people that will help you re-energize these key areas you
have listed. These resources may be things like seminars, websites, publications or trained specialists.

Among the list of goals to help you grow is mastering dedication to your goal. Once you have your
resources identified you will need to create a plan that will allow you to dedicate a little time
everyday towards your personal growth. It is important that you are consistent with this daily regimen
and use the time to remind yourself why these goals are important. You may also take the time to read
books or watch videos on personal development

Obtaining these kinds of goals to help you grow may be a new concept to you, but there are others who
have been developing and mastering these practices for quite sometime. Do some research and find
a mentor or someone who can inspire you in the area of personal development. Try to associate yourself
with other people who are on the path to self growth. You will be able to support and guide each other.

The crucial thing to remember when carrying out all of these goals is the importance of action. It is only

By performing new actions you will be able to garner new and positive results.

Deciding to incorporate these goals to help you grow into your life is one of the first steps to regaining
control of your destiny. Self growth is a natural bi-product of these kinds of goals, however success
in all areas of your life will also be achieved. Good luck!

How do you stay in touch with your children who live far away?

I’m looking for some fun ideas and tips for staying in touch with adult children who live far away. My oldest daughter was in the military for 4 years and now lives in another state. My youngest daughter will marry next spring and will also move away. I do enjoy them both; and speak with my oldest on the phone at least once a week.

Email is quick and easy….using a messenger to chat is another option…..

something fun to do, would be to keep a small journal or scrapbook about things that are going on in ur area or things that you have done or are doing and then once a month send it to them……It doesn’t have to be big, but add some newspaper articles that are of interest or photos……it just gives them a little bit more of a taste of home or where you are living…..If they are able to do the same for you, then you get a sense of where they live and what is going on…

good luck and hope you get some really good ideas.
