I have been intrigued by Mr. Hill’s portrayal of a master mind group, and the affect that it can have on achieving success.
Napoleon Hill defines a master mind as a:
“Coordination of knowledge and effort, in a spirit of harmony, between two or more people, for the attainment of a definite purpose.”
To have a group of people dedicated to helping each other grow their business is extremely powerful. The ideal master mind group will consist of people with a similar purpose – everyone working toward common goals. A master mind is dedicated towards helping like-minded persons build and succeed in their respective businesses.
The MasterMind Formula
The MasterMind Formula is made up of the following:
1. Power through Definite Purpose. What is your Purpose? What is your reason for pursuing a network marketing enterprise? If your Purpose is strong and laser focused, then the other pieces to the Formula come much easier.
2. Faith. To become a leader in your business does take Faith. A leader is out in front, blazing the trail. It takes Faith to confront the unknown and move your business forward. If your Faith is greater than your fear, then your fears will be conquered.
3. Desire. How strong is your Desire? Is it strong enough to move you outside your comfort zone? To succeed in your business, your Desire must interrupt your present life and cause you to step into your vision of the future.
4. Persistence. When was the last time you tried starting something new? Was it easy to do every day? We must determine the core profit tasks that must be done daily to build a successful business. When you run into rejection, you must Persist.
5. Plan. In network marketing, our Plan is simple. We must Invite, Present, and Train. Make sure that these three items are part of your Plan.
6. Action. All of the elements of this formula are nothing without Action. As Yoda says, “To know and not to do, is still not to know”. It’s not enough to just know how to do something. Take Massive Action.
This is a formula that everyone should apply to their network marketing business. We harness an incredible power through the Definite Purpose; and combining Faith, Desire, and Persistence with our business provides a strong foundation from which to build. And Action is the catalyst that makes this an extremely powerful Formula for our business.
MasterMind Group Characteristics
Take a look at your present situation. Do your friends and family share your vision? Will they do everything they can to help you achieve what is important to you? It is critical that the individuals on your MasterMind team have similar visions for their futures and be people that you would be proud to call your friends.

- Ready to Act Now
- Decisive
- High Self-Esteem
- Mentally Tough
- Confident
Admittedly, this is not an all-inclusive list. However, it has been my experience that the people with these characteristics also have a positive outlook and enjoy people. And in order for their businesses to thrive, they will be dedicated to helping to make people’s lives better.
Use the power of a master mind group to grow yourself and your business. Strive to be a positive resource and challenge each other to be accountable not only to themselves, but also to each other. The success of the MasterMind group will be determined by the success of its members.
